I am a European woman married to a Sri Lankan 'man/boy/king' ha 😐 in their Mother's eyes!
My husband is not a bad man really it is the culture of which he is a product of.He does nothing in the house to help and leaves everything for me to do.He stares at girls/women when we are out he doesn't care if it hurts my feelings and does it in my face.To an extent – we didn’t follow ‘typical’ Sri Lankan customs because my husband and his family are Christian and many of the more typical Sri Lankan customs are related to Buddhism.Because of our shared faith, we actually had a lot in common in terms of what we valued in a wedding ceremony.Second, when in australia I went out with just one girl (not even a date, just an acquintance, part of university project, nothing romantic or sexual), and the look I got from the women on the streets was simply baffling. Dating is supposed to be a way to get to know people you might be attracted to.They looked so shocked looking at us - giving stupid smiles sometimes. Are you saying people just assume you're dating the moment they see you with a member of the opposite sex? In order to do that, you have to feel like YOU are a person worth knowing (which is doesn't sound like you do) and and need a genuine desire to meet and care about people (women, in your case.) Don't confuse the issue by wondering what people who AREN'T on the date might be thinking.I admit I am not good looking, typical South Asian look, nothing more. Also my question is, even under such assumption shouldn't it be men who should do that (like, hey this immigrant So B is stealing our girls etc.). First of all, I am partcpating here so western society can provide a better idea. But why would women be upset when the men on teh street were okay with it? I am just confused by this dating nonsense, even though in my case it wasnt even a real date. Second, when in australia I went out with just one girl (not even a date, just an acquintance, part of university project, nothing romantic or sexual), and the look I got from the women on the streets was simply baffling.I will give you specific websites to communicate with women from Sri Lanka for true love or marriage in the land of copper-red hands (Prince Vijaya). The websites in this post are based on personal experience and research.
